Local Trains

Local Trains are the major means of transport in Mumbai. Most of the city-dwellers rely on Mumbai Suburban Railway to travel within the metropolis. The extensive network of Railways has three lines, called the Western Line, the Central Main Line and the Harbour Line

Taxi /Autorickshaws

Hiring a taxi is a convenient way of traveling in and around Mumbai. They are small sized cars which are cheap and easily available. The regular taxis are black and yellow in color, with manual meters and without air condition. There are even pre-paid taxis available, which rule out the meter and fix the fare beforehand. From midnight, till 5 a.m. in the morning, 25 percent extra fare is charged.

Local Transport : There are a lot of means of public transportation in Mumbai (Bombay). Getting around the city just involves gaining entry in any public transport and then, you are prepared to knock the roads. The public transport consists of Roadways (BEST Buses, Taxis and Autorickshaws), Railways (Central Line, Western Line and Harbour Line).

Food, Shopping & Accommodation: The most trendy and bubbling of the six metro cities of India, Mumbai offers every type of National & International cuisine. From Parsi Dhansaak to Gujarati Thalis, Muslim Kebabs to Goan Vindaloos, it’s all here. Mumbai has some of the oldest restaurants in India. Delhi Darbar, Sindhudurg, Highway Gomantak, Samrat, Vitthal Bhelwala, Mahesh Lunch Home, Kailash Parbat, Adarsh are some of the oldest restaurants in the city. It is known for its roadside food stalls and its restaurants.

Tea is the most popular beverage followed by coffee. There are tea stalls in almost all roads and corners. Other drinks include fruit juices and coconut water. Irani cafés are a part of Mumbai’s cosmopolitan heritage. The Mumbai chefs can also transport you to Italy, America, Mexico or China right in their restaurants.
