IADVL Scholarships for attending ADC 2016

IADVL is happy to announce scholarships for attending the Asian Dermatological Congress (ADC), Mumbai, Oct 13-16: 51 scholarships of Rs 10,000/- each (17 each for LMs aged >35 yrs, LMs aged <35 yrs and PLMs)

Only registered delegates presenting a paper/poster,  who have not obtained any DERMACON or SARCD scholarship from the IADVL  earlier,  and have no other funding source (e.g. conference organizers, state branches, government, ICMR, pharmaceutical company, or institutions) are eligible. Those who have received fellowships/observerships earlier are eligible.

  2. Scanned copy of the attached declaration
  3. Abstract (as a MS Word document)

  5. Brief CV (as a MS Word document)

The last date for application is 30-06-2016.


The applications will be evaluated by independent judges and the results declared  before the conference, while the grant will be disbursed on completion of the conference and submission of proof of attendance.

 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Important Dates:

The last date for abstract submission is 15th May 2016

Acceptance letter will be sent to you via email by 15th June 2016

Presenting author should REGISTER by 30th June 2016

 

Abstract Submission (Free Communications):

Participants are cordially invited to submit abstracts based on their research/practice in accordance with the guidelines mentioned below. The submitted abstracts may be accepted for free papers (Oral Paper Presentation / E-posters).

  1. It is mandatory for the presenting author to be a registered delegate.
  2. Peer review by experts will determine acceptance or rejection of abstracts. The corresponding author will be informed via e-mail. The Committee decision is final and cannot be appealed.
  3. Abstracts cannot be identical to any abstract that has previously been presented at a major international meeting prior to the ADC 2016 or published in a medical journal. An update to prior work is accepted.
  4. Submission of an abstract indicates:

(i) that the author(s) agree to comply with the abstract submission and presentation rules,

(ii) that the presentation is based on scientific and/or clinical methods that are ethical and valid, and

(iii) that all authors have contributed to and approved the abstract and its entire contents.

 

  1. All accepted abstracts will be published electronically on digital media (e.g. CD-ROM) and distributed to all delegates.
  2. Accepted abstracts are official communications of the Congress. The presenting author agrees to register, attend the Congress, and present the abstract as scheduled by the ADC. The presenting author MUST REGISTER for the 10th ADC by 30th June 2016  before the abstract can officially be accepted for inclusion in the final scientific program and official Program Book. Abstracts sent by presenters who are not registered by 30th June 2016  will not be included in the conference proceedings.

 

  1. Abstracts will be judged for merit according to the following criteria:
  2. Academic merit and appropriate research methodology
  3. Educational value
  • Clarity of presentation
  1. Potential impact on clinical practice of dermatology
  2. Maximum of 2 submissions per delegate will be accepted

 

Instructions for Abstract Preparation

  • Not more than 250 words excluding the title and affiliations
  • Abstracts should be uploaded online only through the abstract submission form on the conference website
  • No emails with attached files, hand written or hard copies or fax submission will be accepted.

 

Important Deadlines and Mandatory Declarations

  1. Online Submission is now available. Please follow the instructions detailed on this page. Your abstract submission will be acknowledged automatically by email, but this confirmation does not constitute official acceptance for presentation.
  2. Statement of Responsibility
  • All co-authors must agree with the submitted results and conclusions, and consent to being listed as authors.
  • The abstract must not have been submitted in identical format to any other international meeting.
  • Work involving humans or animals, or material derived from them must have been approved by an institutional ethics committee.
  • In case of conflict of interest of any of the authors, please tick appropriate fields in the abstract submission form and give details.

Acceptance Notification:

Authors will be notified by 15th June 2016 as to the acceptance status of their submissions. This includes the assignment of session category and presentation format (oral or poster).If your abstract is accepted, you must register no later than 30th June 2016. Unless you register by that date, your abstract will not be included in any ADC print or online publications or the official program book.

 

Declaration of Conflict of Interest

All contributors to a presentation are needed to disclose to the audience any conflicts of interests including financial or any other relationships with manufacturers of commercial products (including drugs, equipments etc.) or services discussed in their presentations. The disclosure is not to prevent a speaker from speaking about the product, but to allow the audience to judge whether speaker’s interests and relationships have influenced the presentation.

Disclosure Slide: The first slide in all oral presentations should be a conflict of interest/ disclosure slide. If there are no relevant commercial interest relationships this also must be disclosed. For posters, kindly mention conflict of interest in the title slide in a footnote in Times new Roman using font size of not less than 16
